UGREEN entered the network-attached-storage space in 2024 with a robust lineup of NAS systems covering a wide range of price points and hardware capabilities. While Ian was underwhelmed with the company’s work-in-progress software when he reviewed the NASync DXP480T Plus in September, the hardware itself is priced rather competitively and it turns out you can install alternate operating systems on UGREEN’s NASync products.
Now the company is showing off two new models set to launch later this year. The UGREEN NASync iDX6011 and iDX6011 Pro are set to hit the streets later this year. They both feature a Intel Core Ultra 5 125H Meteor Lake processor, dual 10 GbE LAN ports, and support for up to 6 hard drives and two PCIe NVMe SSDs.
While you don’t really need a 14-core, 18-thread Meteor Lake chip for typical NAS use cases, UGREEN is positioning these as systems that can leverage Intel’s NPU for AI features such as summarizing documents, transcribing audio, or getting answers to questions.
Both models have an HDMI port, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and an SD card reader. But the iDX6011 has two 40 Gbps Thunderbolt 4 ports on the front while the iDX6011 Pro has two USB Type-C ports that are not Thunderbolt certified. How does that make sense for a Pro model? Because this version has an OCuLink connector on the back instead, which means it should support external PCIe connections with support for data transfer speeds up to 64 Gbps.
The Pro model also has a small screen on the front of the system that can display system status information.
UGREEN hasn’t announced how much the new systems will cost yet, but the NASync iDX6011 should be available in the second quarter of 2025 with the iDX6011 Pro set to join it in Q3, 2025.
