The Acer Chromebook Tab 311 is a is a ChromeOS tablet with a 10.95 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel touchscreen display, support for an optional USI 2.0 stylus, and a keyboard folio case that lets you use the system like a laptop.
Powered by a MediaTek Kompanio 520 processor and supporting up to 8GB of LPDDR4x memory and 128GB of eMMC storage, the tablet isn’t exactly a speed demon. But with prices expected to start at around $329 when the Chromebook Tab 311 goes on sale in the first quarter of the year, it looks like a relatively affordable option that’s aimed at the education market.
The tablet features a microSD card reader with support for cards up to 2TB, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data.
Wireless capabilities include support for WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 as well as optional support for 4G LTE.
The Acer Chromebook Tab 311 also has a 5MP rear camera (with auto-focus), a 2MP fixed-focus front-facing camera, and stereo speakers. There’s an 8,000 mAh battery that Acer says should provide up to 10 hours of run time, and the tablet measures 267.2 x 173.9 x 9.1mm (10.5″ x 6.8″ x 0.4″) and weighs 610 grams (1.34 pounds) without the keyboard.
It’s one of several new ChromeOS devices that Acer is introducing for the education market. Others include new Acer Chromebook 511 and Chromebook Spin 511 and Chromebook Spin 512 laptops with Intel Twin Lake processors. Those are also expected to be available in North America starting in the first quarter of 2025.
