Acer introduced its first handheld gaming PC a few months ago, and while the Acer Nitro Blaze 7 has yet to actually go on sale, the company is already expanding the Nitro Blaze family with two new models sporting the same 35+ watt AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor used in the Nitro Blaze 7.

The new Acer Nitro Blaze 8 features an 8.8 inch, 2560 x 1600 display with a refresh rate up to 144 Hz, while the new Acer Nitro Blaze 11 has a 10.95 inch screen and a pair of detachable controllers. Both handhelds are expected to be available in North America in the second quarter of 2025 with prices starting at $900 for the Acer Nitro Blaze 8 and $1100 for the Nitro Blaze 11.

The 11 inch model has detachable controllers, and a physical design that looks very similar to the Tencent 3D One handheld that popped up in China in November. While it seems likely that the Acer and Tencent handhelds are based on similar designs, they’re very different devices: the Tencent model has an Intel Lunar Lake processor and a glasses-free 3D display, while the Acer version is an AMD-based handheld with no mention of 3D capabilities.

Both the Nitro Blaze 8 and Nitro Blaze 11 feature 16GB Of LPDDR5x-7500 memory and support for up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage, game controllers with hall effect sensors and support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. There are also stereo speakers and dual microphones.

Ports include:

  • 1 x USB4 Type-C (40 Gbps)
  • 1 x USB 3.2 Type-C
  • 1 x USB 3.2 Type-A
  • 1 x 3.5mm audio
  • 1 x microSD card reader

Both the 8.8 and 11 inch models come with 55 Wh batteries, but the smaller handheld comes with a 65W power adapter, while the larger version comes with a 100W adapter.

The Acer Nitro Blaze 8 measures 305 x 134 x 22mm (12″ x 5.3″ 0.9″) and weighs 720 grams (1.59 pounds), while the Nitro Blaze 11 is a 364 x 171 x 16mm (14.3″ x 6.7″ x 1″) device that weighs 1,050 grams (2.31 pounds).
