The Asus Zenbook 14 (UM3406KA) is a thin and light laptop with a 14 inch OLED display that looks a lot like the new UX3405CA model Asus is also introducing this week. But while that model features an Intel Arrow Lake-H processor, the UM3406KA has AMD inside. Oh, and the AMD version has a black chassis instead of silver or gray.

This little notebook measures 0.6 inches thick and weighs 2.82 pounds with a 75 Wh battery. It ships standard with an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. It should be available soon for $1,000.

Asus is providing details for two models that will both sell for the same $1,000 price. But one version has 16GB of RAM and will be available from the Asus Store and Best Buy, while the other will be a 32GB model for the same price that’s available exclusively from Walmart:

While those are the only models that Asus is announcing for the US market, it’s worth noting that the company says that the laptop can technically be made with up to a 2880 x 1800 pixel, 120 Hz display, so we may see that version in some markets.

But for now it looks like customers in the US who want the better screen (or support for WiFi 7) may need to opt for an Intel model… or a different laptop.
