The Asus Zenbook A14 thin and light laptop that debuted during CES 2025 is now available for purchase in the US.

While Asus designed the laptop to meet a variety of price points ranging from $899 to $1500, the first model available in the US is a mid-range configuration that features a 1920 x 1200 pixel OLED display, 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM, a 1TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 SSD, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon X1-26-100 octa-core processor. It’s available from Asus or Best Buy for $1100.

That’s… an interesting mix of specs, to be honest. On the one hand, the X1-26-100 is the cheapest, least powerful processor in the Snapdragon X lineup. Introduced earlier this year as a solution for PCs with starting prices as low as $600, it’s odd to see Asus use it for a laptop that costs nearly twice that much.

On the other hand, it’s still a chip with 8 Qualcomm Oryon CPU cores with support for speeds up to 3 GHz and a 45 TOPS NPU for on-device AI features. The laptop has plenty of memory and storage and an OLED display. So while the integrated GPU leaves something to be desired, this version of the Zenbook A14 should be a pretty decent option for most non-gaming activities.

And the laptop certainly has some other premium touches including a Ceraluminum chassis (magnesium-aluminum alloy with a scratch-resistant ceramic-like finish, that Asus says is 30 percent lighter than anodized aluminum, but three times stronger). Honestly I was skeptical of this made-up word when Asus first started using it, but after going hands-on with the Zenbook A14 I have to say it does give the laptop a premium feel.

While Asus has been offering laptops with Ceraluminum lids for a little while, this is the first laptop to feature an all-ceraluminum body.

Other features include a 70 Wh battery, a 65W power adapter, a FHD IR webcam with support for Windows Hello face recognition, a backlit keyboard, support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, and a set of ports that includes:

  • 2 x USB4 Type-C
  • 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
  • 1 x HDMI 2.1
  • 1 x 3.5mm audio

The Asus Zenbook A14 measures 12.23″ x 8.42″ x 0.63″ at its thickest point, and 0.53″ at its thinnest, and the laptop weighs 2.18 pounds.

If you’re holding out for cheaper configurations, Asus says Best Buy will begin selling a cheaper $900 configuration in the US starting later in the first quarter of 2025.
