The GPD Win Mini (2025) is a handheld gaming PC with 7 inch, 120 Hz display, support for up to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 Strix Point processor, and a clamshell design that makes the system look a little like a tiny laptop. It even has a QWERTY keyboard designed to let you type with your thumbs – the game controllers are positioned above the keyboard, and there’s a touchpad squeezed between them.
GPD has been making the Win Mini for a few years, but the latest model brings a few upgrades including an enhanced cooling system and support for M.2 2280 SSDs (earlier models only had room for M.2 2230 drives). First introduced late last year, the GPD Win Mini (2025) is now up for pre-order through an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign and it’s expected to begin shipping to backers in March, 2025.
While there’s always some risk involved with crowdfunding and I wouldn’t normally use the word “pre-order” to describe what you’re doing when backing a crowdfunding campaign, GPD has a long track record of using crowdfunding as promotion and marketing tool rather than to raise money necessary to complete production and distribution of its products. I have little doubt that the GPD Win Mini (2025) will ship, although GPD does have a bit of a mixed record when it comes to providing support for its products. So I’d still advise proceeding with caution.
Prices during crowdfunding start at $769 for a model with an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U “Hawk Point” processor featuring a CPU based on AMD’s Zen 4 architecture and an integrated GPU featuring 12 RDNA 3 compute units. This is the same chip used in the 2024 version of the handheld gaming PC, but the new model is priced reasonably competitively and features the improved cooling and storage features.
Higher-priced models with AMD Strix Point chips (Zen 5/5C CPUs and RDNA 3.5 graphics) start at $1181 during crowdfunding for a model with a Ryzen AI 9 HX 365 chip or $1288 for a Ryzen AI HX 370 version:
IGG | Retail | |
Ryzen AI 9 HX 370/64GB/2TB | $1426 | $1496 |
Ryzen AI HX 370/32GB/2TB | $1288 | $1358 |
Ryzen AI 9 HX 365/32GB/2TB | $1181 | $1251 |
Ryzen 7 8840U/16GB/1TB | $769 | $839 |
Models with Strix Point chips are also available in a choice of black or white colors, while the entry-level Hawk Point model is only available in black, like all of GPD’s older models.
All models of the GPD Win Mini (2025) feature hall effect joysticks, a set of removable grips that make the little computer more comfortable to hold while gaming, aa set of ports that includes USB4 (40 Gbps), USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and Type-A (10 Gbps), and a headphone jack and microSD card reader.
