PocketBook is a Swiss company that’s been selling eBook readers with E Ink displays for nearly two decades. But the company’s newest E Ink product isn’t designed for reading books.

InkPoster is a large E Ink color display that you can hang on your wall to display artwork. Available in screen sizes ranging from 13.3 to 31.5 inches, each screen has a built-in battery and support for WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 LE, allowing you to periodically switch out the artwork on your walls. PocketBook hasn’t announced how much its digital poster displays will cost, but the company is giving them a “pre-launch” at CES 2025 this week.

The InkPoster combines E Ink Spectra 6 and Sharp IGZO display technologies, which means that unlike most E Ink screens, you get support for 60,000 colors and the same pixel density for black and white or color content. But you also get a much slower screen refresh rate – it takes about 12 seconds to perform a full screen refresh, so these screens are very much made for signage rather than video or other high-motion graphics.

It comes in three sizes:

  • 31.5 inches (2560 x 1440 pixels. 94 ppi, 16:9 aspect ratio, 20,000 mAh battery)
  • 28.5 inches (2160 x 3060 pixels, 132 ppi, 1:1.41 aspect ratio, 20,000 mAh battery)
  • 13.3 inches (1200 x 1600 pixels, 150 ppi, 3:4 aspect ratio, 14,000 mAh battery)

Since the displays are not illuminated and E Ink screens can display a static image indefinitely without drawing any power, the only time InkPaper users electricity is when you’re changing the image. So PocketBook says those batteries should only need to be recharged about once a year using a USB-C charger.
