GEEKOM isn’t the only company debuting a Windows on ARM desktop computer powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon X series processor at CES 2025.

Lenovo’s new ThinkCentre neo 50q QC is a small business-class PC with support for up to a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processor and a starting price of $849. It should be available in February, 2025. And the new IdeaCentre Mini X is a consumer model that’s expected to hit the streets later this year. Exact pricing, availability, and specs for this model haven’t been announced yet.

The $849 starting price seems a little steep for a PC with an entry-level Snapdragon X processor, seeing as Qualcomm specifically added this entry-level octa-core processor to its line of PC chips in order to add support for cheaper computers with prices starting as low as $600. But it’s likely that at least part of the reason for this is that the ThinkCentre neo 50q QC is aimed at small business and enterprise customers rather than the general public.

Hopefully consumer models will have lower starting prices – although it’s worth noting that Tom’s Hardware reports that the Lenovo IdeaCentre Mini X will only come with a Snapdragon X Plus processor and not the cheaper Snapdragon X chip since this mini PC “is built for professionals and creatives.” Hopefully more details about that model will be released in the coming months.

So why opt for a mini PC with a Snapdragon X or X Plus processor rather than spending your money on a laptop with the same chip? Ports: the ThinkCentre neo 50q QC has a lot more of them than you’ll find on a typical laptop including HDMI, DisplayPort and Ethernet jacks plus a good number of USB ports.

The computer also has room inside the case for up to two SSDs. Unfortunately the memory is LPDDR5x RAM that’s soldered to the motherboard, so it’s not user upgradeable.
