It looks like Lenovo’s Yoga Book 9i dual-screen laptop is here to stay. First introduced in 2023 with a pair of 13.3 inch OLED displays and an Intel Raptor Lake processor, Lenovo launched an updated model with an Intel Meteor Lake processor a year later.
Now it’s time for round three and this time in addition to a faster processor, Lenovo is adding a bigger displays and a larger battery. But the company still managed to make this year’s model thinner and lighter than the previous-gen model. The new Lenovo Yoga Book 9i (14 inch) laptop will be available in May for $2000 and up.
The new model has a pair of 14 inch, 2880 x 1800 pixel OLED displays with 500 nits typical brightness, up to 750 nits peak brightness, and a variable refresh rate ranging from 48 Hz to 120 Hz.
Thanks to a 360 degree hinge, you can position the screens for use in laptop, tablet, or dual-screen modes (either with one display above the other or so that they’re side-by-side in portrait orientation). You’ll need to use the included Folio case as a stand though, since the laptop itself doesn’t have a built-in kickstand.
While one of those screens is in the position where you’d normally find a physical keyboard, the laptop also comes with wireless keyboard that you can either place on top of part of the lower display for a more traditional laptop-like experience, or position in front of the PC when you want to see both screens.
Lenovo also equipped the laptop with a soundbar that rotates 360 degrees so that the laptop’s four speakers are positioned optimally no matter which way the screens are facing. And the Yoga Book 9i comes with an active pen for writing or drawing.
The laptop is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor and supports up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to a 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. It has an 88 Wh battery (up from 80 Wh in the previous generation) and comes with a 65W USB Type-C power adapter.
The laptop only has three ports, but they’re all Thunderbolt 4 ports, so you can use any port for power, data, or video output. The system also supports WiFi 7 connectivity and has a 5MP IR webcam with a privacy shutter and support for “Air Gestures,” allowing you to use your hands to move windows from one screen to the other, scroll through web pages or documents, and capture screenshots.
While last year’s model measures 299.1 x 203.9 x 16mm (11.78″ x 8.03″ x 0.63″) and weighed 1.34 kg (2.95 pounds), the new model is 315.1 x 209.6 x 15.5mm (12.4″ x 8.25″ x 0.61″) and 1.22kg (2.69 pounds).
