Shortly after the EU forced Apple to allow third-party app stores on iOS (in the European Union, at least), Epic announced it was bringing its Epic Games Store to iPhones and Android. Up until recently it’s mostly been a place for installing Epic games like Fortnite, Fall Guides, and Rocket League Sideswipe.
But now Epic has announced the availability of third-party titles in the Epic Games Store for mobile devices. With just under 20 games available at launch, it’s not like Epic’s store is ready to topple the App Store or Google Play Store, each of which have millions of apps and games available. But Epic is giving users a reason to try its store: free games. It’s a strategy that has helped Epic build the Epic Games Store user base on PCs, and now the company is hoping it can do the same on mobile.
Here’s a roundup of recent tech news from around the web.

After dipping its toes in the Seamless Updates waters with the Galaxy A55 last year, Samsung is now bringing the feature to the Galaxy S25 series that was unveiled this week.
