The MeLE PCG02 is a small fanless computer that’s designed to plug directly into the HDMI port of a TV or monitor, effectively turning any screen into a fully functional computer. MeLE has been selling versions of this pocket-sized computer since 2015, but the last major update came in 2020 when the company introduced a model with an Intel Celeron J4125 processor.
Now MeLE has launched a new version with an Intel N100 Alder Lake-N processor. While that chip is a few years old at this point, it should still bring a nice boost in CPU and graphics performance over the even-older J4125 Gemini Lake Refresh processor. The MeLE PCG02 is available now from AliExpress for $150 and up.
One thing to keep in mind is that this little computer features onboard memory and storage – neither is user upgradeable, so if you want more than the 4GB of LPDDR5x-4266 RAM and 128GB of eMMC storage that are included in the base model, you’ll want to buy a higher-spec model.
MeLE offers models with 8GB of RAM for $170 and up, and the marketing materials mention support for up to 16GB of RAM, although there’s no option to purchase a 16GB model yet.
The computer measures 140 x 60 x 19.5mm (5.5″ x 2.4″ x 0.8″) and features a set of ports and connectors that includes:
- 1 x HDMI 2.0 connector
- 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (10 Gbps with DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB-PD)
- 1 x USB Type-C (12V/2A power input only)
- 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A (10 Gbps)
- 1 x 3.5mm audio combo
- 1 x Gigabit Ethernet
- 1 x microSD card reader
The system also has a power button, CMOS clear/BIOS reset button, and an adjustable antenna.
Wireless capabilities include support for WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1, and the computer supports Wake on LAN, Network Boot, and RTC Wake functionality, among other things.
While the MeLE PCG02 can be plugged directly into the HDMI port of a display, it’s a bit chunky for a PC Stick, and could end up blocking some other ports, so you can also attach the computer to a VESA mount and run a display cable to your TV or monitor.
Of course, if you’re planning to do that, you might be better off with a slightly larger PCG02 Pro which has two HDMI ports instead of a single HDMI connector. MeLE released an updated version of that mini PC in April, 2025 and you can currently pick up an 8GB/256GB model for $160 at Amazon (when you clip the on-page coupon).
