One Netbook has been making handheld gaming PCs for close to five years, and so far most models have been Windows devices with Intel or AMD processors. The upcoming ONEXSUGAR is something different.
Made in collaboration with Sugar Cubes, the ONEXSUGAR is a dual-screen Android handheld with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a set of controllers that can be repositioned to let you use the handheld in single-screen or dual-screen modes. .
The companies haven’t provided detailed specs, photos, pricing, or availability information yet. But a short teaser video has been posted to the One Netbook and Sugar Cubes YouTube channels.
While that video is too dark to make out many details, NITTRX has uploaded a video with the brightness and contrast cranked way up, and it looks like the ONEXSUGAR has a hinge that lets you fold the device in half so that only a single screen is facing forward or flip up the second screen so you can see both displays at once.
Interestingly the top screen seems to be smaller than the lower screen, and the game controllers can be twisted 180 degrees so that instead of resting outside of the larger display, they squeeze into place by the smaller screen, which could come in handy for playing Nintendo DS titles or other games that work well on dual-screen devices with unequal screen sizes.
There’s no word yet on when the ONEXSUGAR will be available for purchase, how much it will cost, or what kind of Snapdragon processor, what version of Android, or what other specs the device will have.
