Most gaming laptops are designed for users who care more about bleeding edge performance than thin and light design. But the new Razer Blade 16 isn’t most gaming laptops.

It packs a 16 inch QHD+ 240 Hz OLED display with a 0.2ms response time, an AMD Strix Point processor, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics into a slim unibody aluminum chassis that measures just 0.59 inches at its thinnest point and 0.69 inches at its thickest. Razer hasn’t announced how much it will cost yet, but if I had to guess, I’d say “a lot.”

Razer says that the new laptop is 32% thinner than last year’s model thanks in part to a new cooling system that features dual fans and dual vapor chambers that cover 57% of the motherboard’s surface area to “effectively cool the Blade while keeping it quite under load.”

Unfortunately, for all of Razer’s talk about how thin this laptop is, I haven’t seen anything about how much it weighs. I’ve always considered that to be a substantially more important metric when it comes to determining just how portable a laptop is.

As The Verge points out, Razer also used a slightly smaller battery: the 2024 model had a 95.2 Wh battery while the 2025 version has a 90 Wh battery. But AMD’s Strix Point processors are relatively efficient, so that might not make a huge difference in real-world battery life.

While Razer hasn’t revealed full specs for the new Blade 16 gaming laptop yet, the company says it will be available with up to an AMD Ryzen 9 AI HX 370 processor and NVIDIA RTX 5090 graphics, and up to 64GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory (which, sadly, is not user upgradeable).

The laptop has six speakers with audio tuned by THX. And Razer has also updated the keyboard so that it now supports deeper key travel (at 1.5mm). There’s also a new row of five macro keys that can be customized to open apps, switch settings, or perform other actions.

The Razer Blade 16 (2025) should be available later in the first quarter of 2025.
